<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an edge from being chipped at the time of polishing and to prevent a piece of glass from scratching a color filter by chamfering the edge of an substrate before polishing. CONSTITUTION:The edge of the glass substrate 2 is chamfered, and the color filter 3 and a black mask 4 are formed by a printing method. Variation in the film thickness of the color filter 3 is made to fall in the range of 1.5 + or -0.1mum by polishing the surface 3 of the color filter. In such a manner the process of polishing the surface of the color filter substance 3 and the process of chamfering the color filter substrate 3, which proceeds to the polishing process, are added. Thus, the smoothing of the color filter 3 can be facilitated, and achieved at a high yield rate.</p> |
