The double action chuck can be turned by hand and also is power assisted. It has a plunger (14) with a power mechanism (6-12), and a tensioning screw (2) with a nut at the top which can be turned inside a housing (1). The tensioning screw (2) screws into an adjusting screw (5), and this by a second thread (5') is axially movable in the housing (1). The tensioner (2) and the adjuster (5) are connected through a friction surface (6,7), and between them and the inner cone surface (20) of the plunger (14) the power mechanism (6-12) is movable axially and radially to the centre line (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - Great strength is transmitted simply and with few moving parts.
