PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of noise and to effectively use space in a recovering tank by providing the toner recovering device with a tank intermittent moving means for repeating the horizontal movement and stop of the tank every fixed interval of time, in order to move the tank intermittently and for recovering toner, which flows down into the tank from a pipe through an opening, with several accumulations of toner formed. CONSTITUTION:The toner carrying pipe 5 carries residual toner T scraped from the surface of a photosensitive body 2. The toner recovering tank 4 is disposed below the pipe 5, is provided with an opening 4a facing up, and recovers the toner T from the opening 4a via the pipe 5. The tank intermittent moving means 15 intermittently moves the tank 4 by repeating the horizontal movement and the stop of the tank 4 every fixed interval of time; the toner T flowing down into the tank 4 from the pipe 5 through the opening 4a is recovered in the recovering tank 4 with several accumulations of toner T formed. Thus, the occurrence of noise is prevented, and space in the recovering tank is effectively used. |
