The closure body for threaded bores comprises elastic material and has a cylindrical part (13) which fits into the bore and which on the circumferential side engages with at least two radially aligned circumferential webs (19) on the thread pitch (23). The webs (19) has practically the same outer diameter as the outer diameter of the thread (22) and are arranged in a spacing (T) corresponding to the simple or whole number multiple of the thread pitch (P) each plus at least approximately half the thread pitch (P). The webs can lie in planes running at right angles to the longitudinal axis (18) of the cylindrical part (13). ADVANTAGE - Secure even engagement with no canting since the webs engage over a wide circumferential area of the thread.
