PURPOSE:To form an image receiving sheet by arbitrarily changing a substrate to obtain a transfer image provided with various characteristics by a method wherein a substrate sheet is overlapped on a transfer sheet with a color developer layer and heated or pressurized, the color developer layer is transferred to the substrate sheet, and a color forming sheet is overlapped on the substrate sheet and heated or pressurized. CONSTITUTION:A color developer layer 2 of a transfer sheet A is formed by being coated with a color developer made of an electron accepting compound using a binder. To a substrate sheet 3, a sheet-form material having arbitrary thickness, tone, and properties, such as paper, film, cloth, and metallic foil, can be applied. A dye precursor layer forming a color forming sheet C is composed of a normally-known leuco dye and a binder. An arbitrary substrate sheet 3 is overlapped on the transfer sheet A, and a heating or pressurizing means 7 is brought into close contact with the full surface of the substrate sheet 3 to form an image receiving sheet B. The surface of the color forming sheet C and the image receiving sheet B are overlapped with each other, and a heating or pressurizing means 8 is brought into close contact with the color forming sheet C. By applying an image signal, the dye precursor is transferred onto the image receiving sheet B. By separating the both sheets from each other, a dye color-forming image 6 is formed. |
