<p>The subject of the invention is a ladle for treating metal, comprising a metal casing (1) which is equipped, on its inner surface, with a refractory wall coating (3) and with a refractory base coating (4) carrying a taphole (5), characterised in that the surface of the refractory base coating (4) in contact with the metal under treatment is a concave surface having, at any point, a slope directed towards the taphole (5).
