The IC engine has a one-piece engine frame. It has a main bearing cover, cylinder liners, and individual cylinder heads, fastened to the frame via tie rods. The cylinder heads (7, 8) are each connected via a screw (5, 6) to a frame-sided cylindrical gudgeon pin (9), in which a tie rod (2) of the main bearing cover (3) is also fastened. USE/ADVANTAGE - IC engine construction allowing simple removal of cylinder heads resp, main bearing cover, without interference with bearing cover/cylinder heads.
