Simple inclination sensor - measures varying position of light intensity on photoelectric surface as bubble is displaced

The inclination sensor has a closed hollow body filled with two media of different specific wts. and optical properties separated by a stable boundary. A receiver converts light affected by the boundary into electrical signals for evaluation to determine inclination. One medium is enclosed by the walls (9) of the hollow body. The other is in a bubble (8) which moves along an illuminated path from its rest position under inclination. The maximum intensity of light moves over a photoelectric surface (12) as the bubble moves. USE/ADVANTAGE - Achieves high accuracy and resolution with simple components.
