PURPOSE:To improve control ability by judging a turning limit in accordance with a sideway acceleration ratio which is largely varied around the turning limit so that motive power transmitted to wheels can be cut down or cut off when exceeding the turning limit. CONSTITUTION:A ECU 44 finds artificial sideway acceleration through an operation means 44a in accordance with signals from a speed sensor 46 and a steering angle sensor 52 and a wheel base (L) of a car, so that a sideway acceleration ratio lambda1, which is the ratio to real sideway acceleration indicated by a sideway acceleration sensor 50, is computed and compared with a critical value memorized in a critical value memory means 44b by a comparison means 44c. The sideway acceleration ratio lambda1 is judged to be a turning limit when exceeding a critical value, so that a clutch control means 44d controls a connecting condition of transmission system clutches 10, 18 and cuts down or cuts off motive power to be transmitted to wheels. A tire increases its gripping force and cornering force equivalent to the decrement of this motive power. It is thus possible to improve control ability. |
