PURPOSE:To eliminate the deviation in the registration by activating each drive means of plural solid-state image pickup elements synchronously with a reference pulse of a horizontal period and using a drive speed correction signal correcting the distortion in an optical image and the deviation in the registration so as to correct the drive speed of each solid-state image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:A synchronizing coupling means applies correction to a drive pulse so that a phase of the drive pulse is made coincident with a phase of a reference pulse. Moreover, a correction signal generating means 56 generates a drive speed correction signal correcting the distortion and registration of a decomposed light image. Drive pulse generating means 40-42 generate respectively a drive pulse whose frequency is corrected so as to correct the distortion and registration of the light image with the drive speed correction signal and whose phase is coincident with the phase of the reference pulse. Thus, the horizontal drive period of solid-state image pickup elements 23-25 is not distorted and the deviation in the registration is stably eliminated. |
