TREATING OF PAPER MAKING PULP WITH ENZYME COMPOSITION FOR PREPARATION OF PAPER OR CARD-BOARD

PURPOSE: To improve machinability of paper pulp by treating a water-soluble suspension of paper pulp of high Schopper.Riegler(SR) level with a specific enzyme preparation to reduce the SR level. CONSTITUTION: The water-soluble suspension of the paper pulp of >25 SR level decided according to Standard NFQ50003 first, especially recycled fiber- based paper pulp is made act on the enzyme preparation comprising cellulases and/or hemicellulases containing alkali cellulases selected from enzymes derived from the fungus Humicola insolens (preferably ATCC 1654 strain, or the like) and the bacterium Cellulomonas (preferably UDA 8200 strain or the like) to reduce the SR level. The enzyme preparation is used by 0.01-2 wt.% of the dried paper pulp.
