<p>PURPOSE: To reduce noise by rotatably mounting an actuating lever connected with an external door handle and engaging an extending portion of the lever with a movable damping element which exerts a larger force than a spring force in the direction against the spring force. CONSTITUTION: A lever 5 connected with an external door handle is rotatably supported by a shaft 2, and an extending portion 6 is mounted to the lever 5. A holding plate 1 for supporting the shaft 2 is provided with a damping element 11 engaged with the extending portion 6. When the handle is operated, the lever 5 is rotated, the extending portion 6 engages with a notch 14 of the element 11 before the lever 5 reaches its end position, and the element 11 is rotated about the shaft 10. During a return operation of the lever 5 by a spring 7, viscous liquid in the element 11 flows through an orifice of a plate 18 and returns to its end position. Therefore, impact noise can be certainly reduced.</p> |
