PURPOSE:To transmit oscillation to a toner container and to prevent aggregation of toner is an inexpensitive way by driving an image carrier for image formation and driving a toner carrier provided opposite to it when the fact that the toner quantity has become meager is detected. CONSTITUTION:The detection conducting body 107 is provided opposite to a developing sleeve 105 in the container 108 with the toner in between, and voltage responding to the toner quantity between the two is induced by bias voltage impressed on a sleeve 105 of the detecting body 107. The change in capacitance responding to the change in toner quantity detected at the detection conducting body 107 is transformed to DC by a capacitance voltage transforming circuit 110. Then when the fact that the toner quantity is meager is detected by the toner shortage detecting device 107, the image carrier 101 is driven and the toner carrier 105 is also driven. Thus, oscillation is transmitted to the toner container 108, and the aggregation of the toner 127 can be prevented in an inexpensive way. |
