PURPOSE:To make the best use of features of glass as a material, e.g., high hardness, heat- resistance and light-weight by constituting a photosensitive drum by using a photosensitive drum base material excellent in coaxial properties between a flange face and a photosensitive layer forming part. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive drum base material 1 is formed by a cylindrical glass pipe 2. The cylindrical part in a photosensitive layer forming area A is the photosensitive layer forming part 3, its outer periphery 3A is an image forming plane and space from both edges of the part 3 to both respective edges of the cylindrical glass pipe 2 is a non- photosensitive layer forming area B. Flange fitting parts 4 are formed respectively. These flange fitting parts 4 are formed in such a manner that both edges of the cylindrical glass pipe 2 are secondarily processed, for instance drawn into a stepped shape. An inner peripheral face 5a of the cylindrical part 5 whose diameter is smaller than the outer diameter is the flange face 4a. For the inner peripheral face 5a, its center axis is coaxial with a central axis obtained by using its inner diameter M as a reference to the outer diameter L of the cylindrical part corresponding to the photosensitive layer forming part 3. Thereby, the characteristics of the glass pipe with excellent heat-resistance, light-weight and high hardness are efficiently used. |
