Shaft seal with slip ring - has outer and inner rings with flanged bushings, toothed rims and ring tension spring

The shaft-seal consists of a slip-ring (12) possessing a radial sealing surface on the outside at one end and over which grips an outer ring (14) with a radial inner sealing-surface on the inside at one end. An inner ring (10) has holes in it. The inner and slip rings are flanged bushings with an outer flange (20,22). The flanged bushing (18) forming the slip ring moves axially on the flanged bushing (16) forming the inner ring (10). Conically tapering and interlocking toothed rims (40,42) form a support for a ring tension spring (52). USE/ADVANTAGE - The shaft seal is axially flexible and gives internal cooling.
