Spiral winding of tube or similar cylinders - in which rectangular thermoplastic strip is spirally wound along mandrel with high overlap which causes inclination
摘要
In the prodn. of thick walled cylindrical tube, thermoplastics strip from an extruder is spirally wound onto a mandrel. The rectangular section strip is initially wound flat onto the mandrel and then by almost completely overlapping successive windings a wall thickness is built up with the wound strip at an angle to the mandrel surface. Wall thickness depends on the angle of inclination of the strip which is related to the forward movementm of the extruder along the mandrel. Initial and final wound sections of the tube are removed to produce a uniform thickness stress free tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - Produces cylindrical components or tubes by spiral winding which eliminates temp. differences in the overlapping areas during winding, giving a stress free tube without shrinkage or deformation.
