PURPOSE:To form a uniform toner layer on a sleeve by providing a coating layer whose developer carrier incorporates conductive fine particles and employing toner which incorporates a specific resin compound. CONSTITUTION:In a developer housing room, the charges of polarity opposite from an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive drum 1 are given to the toner 5 mainly by the contact rubbing of the surface of a sleeve 2 against the toner 5. The toner is applied to the surface of the sleeve 2. By a doctor blade 6, the toner is regulated to become a uniform and thin layer and is carried to a developing area formed by both the photosensitive drum 1 and the sleeve 2. In the area, the developer carrier 2 is provided with the coating layer incorporating the conductive fine particles. The toner 5 incorporates the resin compound which incorporates 10 - 70 wt% insoluble tetrahydrofuran (THF) of a binder resin; this resin compound incorporates 10 - 50 wt% component whose molecule weight is <= 10,000 to the binder resin in its molecular weight distribution. Thereby, the toner is uniformly carried on the developing sleeve 2. |
