The device is used in a vehicle-mounted apparatus mounting/demounting mechanism for inserting the vehicle-mounted apparatus eg audio equipment into a casing mounted on a vehicle for removably holding the apparatus and for removing the apparatus from the casing. The removal instruction device includes a first detection means 13 for detecting that the apparatus is in the casing, a second detection means 12, 14 for detecting that a key of a vehicle has been turned to an off position, a control means 16 for outputting a signal which instructs removal of the vehicle-mounted apparatus when the first detection means detects that the vehicle-mounted apparatus is in the casing and when the second detection means detects that the key has been turned to the off position, and an alarm means 17-19 for generating removal instruction alarm. <IMAGE>
