PURPOSE: To obtain uniform quality of the product of a filter rod by preliminarily coating the supporting threads and/or strips of the filter rod with a granular absorbent which deposits on the threads and/or strips and then integrating them together. CONSTITUTION: Threads and/or strips coated with an active adhesive are continuously supplied, while a granular absorbent is supplied to form a coating of the granular absorbent so that the threads and/or strips are continuously made to travel at the same time. The threads and/or strips coated with the absorbent are continuously integrated into a rod or tubular form. The obtd. rod or tube is cut into specified length to obtain the desired filter.
