The injector has a soft iron housing with an integral solenoid coil (5) around a stator (8) comprising a hollow tube down which the fuel is pumped. The stator has an integral spring (1) which presses onto a flat disc (10) with a spherical sealing profile (11) in the centre of the sealing face. The sealing profile is pressed into a tapering sealing seat by the spring. The solenoid opens and closes the injector, with the fuel amount determined by the open period of the injector. The valve disc is backed by a thin metal plate (12) of high magnetic resistance. The injector sealing seat is part of a plate (3) held in place by a screw plug (4) with the injection duct through the centre. ADVANTAGE - Simple construction, no precision needle required, accurate fuel dosing.
