The container (1) or commercial and/or domestic uses has ridges (2), narrow parts (3) and/or grooves, nominal breaking-points or tear-lines (4). By the application of force, the container (1) can be flattened. The ridges (2) and narrow parts (3) are concertina-shaped crosswise to the direction of deformation. Any tear-lines (4) are spirally curved. A lid has a handle and several annular steps. USE/ADVANTAGE - The container can be compacted easily.
