A road sweeping trailer has at least two coaxial wheels and a coupling (5). This can pivot about a transverse axis (10) parallel to the ground. The telescopically compressible coupling uses the compression, occurring on braking, to brake the trailer wheels. The brake stroke is transferred via rods (12-15) and levers (17, 18) to shafts (19, 20), extending to the trailer sides and from there to the wheel brakes. The rod (14, 15) to lever axes coincide with the coupling pivot axis (10). ADVANTAGE - More effective brakes, that are not applied when the coupling pivots.
