The container has a circular lid fixable on the container neck by a tension ring (30). In cross section, the ring is L-shaped. One arm (30a) rests on the top side of the cover edge (23) and the other arm (30b) runs parallel to the container neck (11) and has at least two diametrically opposite locking devices which have a tension curve and locking bolts (13-15). The tension ring (30) is dimensioned and rotatable circumferentially relative to the container neck so that its arm placed at the top is pressed against the container edge (12) through the effect of the tension curves and locking bolts (13-15). The locking devices pref. have two diametrically opposed recesses (33) which have at the lower arm edge an insert opening and an adjoining tension curve.
