PURPOSE:To output the ignition signal of an air bag on the basis of the output signal of a single acceleration sensor provided in a vehicle chamber by calculating a vehicle speed and the information correlative to collision attitude, and outputting the ignition signal when the ignition is judged necessary. CONSTITUTION:An acceleration sensor 3 is disposed in a vehicle chamber, and the information correlative to vehicle speed is calculated by a vehicle speed information calculating means 131 on the basis of the detection signal from the acceleration sensor 3. The information correlative to a plurality of collision attitudes is calculated by a collision attitude calculating means 132 on the basis of the detection signal, and the necessity of ignition of an air bag is judged by an ignition signal outputting means 133 on the basis of the obtained vehicle speed information and collision attitude information to output an ignition signal. Hence, as pole collision and light collision can be precisely discriminated by the single sensor 3 disposed in the vehicle chamber, the part cost and assembling cost of the accelerator sensor can be reduced. |
