<p>PURPOSE:To automatically illuminate the turn direction of a vehicle even on a curved road, where a turn signal switch is not operated, by detecting an angular speed in a yaw direction of the vehicle and lighting right and left cornering lamps in accordance with a result of this detected angular speed. CONSTITUTION:In an angular speed sensor l set up in a suitable part of a vehicle, an angular speed in a yaw direction, which is a turn direction of the vehicle, is detected. In a signal processing circuit 2, being based on a detected angular speed signal, the turn direction of the vehicle is decided simultaneously with either right or left cornering lamp (R, L) 3 selectively turned on. In this way, even in a curve where a turn signal switch is not operated, a road surface in the turn direction of the vehicle is always automatically and adequately illuminated. Accordingly, driving safety of the vehicle can be improved at the time of its night running.</p> |
