The electrolyser comprises a variable number of superposed electrodes. The operational electrodes are made of perforated sheets of lead with or without stibium and/or silver, while the counter-electrodes are of lead (alloy) poured into a dielectric support. The support gives a far smaller active surface of the counter-electrode compared with the operational electrode to a ratio 10-200.
