NONFLAMMABLE EXCELSIOR CEMENT MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a nonflammable cemented excelsior board having a flame- retardancy of Glass-1 of JIS specification by mixing bone dry excelsior, processed excelsior containing insoluble sulfamic acid metal salt and hydraulic cement and compression-molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of bone dry excelsior is mixed with 100 pts.wt. of processed excelsior containing 15-150 pts.wt. of a soluble sulfamic acid metal salt and a cement paste containing 100-250 pts.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. of the bone dry excelsior) of hydraulic cement. The mixture is subjected to the forming under pressure and the curing of the cement and the product is dried to obtain the objective cemented excelsior board. Any kind of excelsior used in the production of cemented excelsior board can be used in the present proc ess. The soluble sulfamic acid metal salt is especially preferably magnesium sulfamate or calcium sulfamate.
