The invention concerns a portable device for laying out and reeling in a cable 1, having a framework 2 designed to go on the back of the person carrying the device, a drum 3 which can be fixed to the framework, on which the said cable 1 can be wound up or unwound, an operating device 4 attached to the framework arranged to give the drum a turning moment and a distributing device 9 arranged to move parallel to a centre line 3' of the drum, by which the said distribution device 9 is arranged to be able to move the cable forwards and backwards dependent upon the speed of revolution of the operating device. Via a gearing system the speed of the drum 3 is adjustable for different types of cable and the said gearing system consists of an exchange of a drive wheel 6,6' applied to the axle 3a of the drum via a bayonet connection. <IMAGE> |
