PURPOSE:To enable automatic discrimination of the position of an indicating element attached to an article, by providing an image pickup means of picking up an image in a state wherein both the indicating element and the article are positioned within the same image pickup field, and a position discriminating means. CONSTITUTION:A proximity sensor S detecting whether or not an article 2 is at a position for inspection is provided in a place on the lateral side of a conveyor 1, at a position whereat a label 3 is put in a state of being fitted in the outer peripheral part of the article 2. Moreover, an ITV camera 6 as an image pickup means of picking up an image in a state wherein both the article 2 and the label 3 are positioned within the same image pickup field is provided in a place on the lateral side of the conveyor 1, at a position whereto the article 2 is moved at a set distance after it is detected by the sensor S. As the article 2 is put in the state of being positioned within the image pickup field of the camera 6, the image of both the article 2 and the label 3 attached to the outer peripheral part thereof is picked up in the state wherein both of them are positioned in the same image pickup field. An information on this picked-up image is inputted to a control device 7 for image processing, which constitutes a position discriminating means 100, and the position of the label 3 is discriminated automatically. |
