Doppler-effect laser anemometer which can be used for measuring the speeds of particles in a flowing fluid and including a laser light source, a collimating optical system (7), a beam splitter (2) for obtaining at least two partial laser beams and a focusing device for focusing at least the two partial laser beams in a measurement volume. The focusing device consists of beam deflection elements (3a, 3b), the number of which is greater than or equal to that of the partial laser beams, which are arranged such that the partial beams (4a, 4b) cross over in the measurement volume.
<??>The elements (3a, 3b) for deflecting the beam are arranged such that the partial laser beams (4a, 4b) are deflected or reflected in the plane defined by the partial laser beams themselves. Furthermore, the beam splitter is formed by a beam splitter plate.
<??>Application to the production of a Doppler-effect laser anemometer which is particularly compact, lightweight and inexpensive.
