PURPOSE:To improve the critical current density by forming a material contg. the elements costituting an oxide superconducting material and exerting a specified temp. and pressure in the fixed direction during its sintering. CONSTITUTION:The oxides, carbonates, etc., contg. the elements constituting an oxide superconducting material based on Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-CuO, etc., for example, Bi2O3, PbO, SrCO3, CaCO3 and CuO, are wet-mixed in a specified molar ratio. The mixture is then calcined, powdered and press-formed. The formed body is sintered below 700 deg.C at 0.5-20t/cm<2> for a specified time to exert a pressure in one direction. The body is again heated at 850-960 deg.C for a specified time in the oxygen current or air and sintered to obtain an oxide superconductor having high critical current density. |
