A toy machine comprises a motor driven spindle 38 and a dead centre 48 movable along parallel rods 44 by means of a guide 46 lockable with respect to the rods so that the machine can be used as a wood lathe. The motor is of the shaded pole type whereby the torque of the motor decreases as the speed decreases thus providing a safety feature in operation. A table can be mounted on the rods 44 to cooperate with a reciprocating saw or a sanding disc. The machine can stand on feet 30 and be used as a drill stand, a vertically movable platform being provided for support by the rods 44. A further attachment comprises a flexible drive drill. |
