The electric push-button switch has base (10) supporting the stationary contacts (39,40) and a linearly displaced push-button cap (12). This houses a slider (13) coupled to the push-button cap (12) for movement with the latter via a projection and a corresp. recess (26). The projection or recess (26) is formed in one sidewall of the push-button cap (12) against which the slider (13) is pressed via a spring (28). Pref. the latter is integral with the top (14) of the push-button cap (12). ADVANTAGE - Simple, reliable operation.
