PURPOSE:To increase an electrostatic charge quantity up to an adequate value and to maintain the same by disposing an attaching/detaching member between a supplying section which supplies a developer to a developing roller and a regulating section which regulates the supplied developer and changing the attaching/detaching member to a 1st state or 2nd state, thereby controlling the increase of the electrostatic charge quantity of the developer. CONSTITUTION:The attaching/detaching member 109 is disposed between the supplying section which supplies the developer to the developing roller 101 and the regulating section 104 which regulates the supplied developer. The attaching/detaching member 109 is brought into contact with the supplied developer in the 1st state to rapidly increase the electrostatic charge quantity. The contact of the attaching/detaching member 109 and the developer is averted in the 2nd state to prevent the increase of the electrostatic charge quantity after the electrostatic charge quantity of the developer attains the adequate value. A control means 110 controls the change of the 1st state or the 2nd state to control the electrostatic charge quantity so as to prevent the excess increase thereof. The electrostatic charge quantity is rapidly increased up to the adequate value in this way when the electrostatic charge quantity is low. In addition, more than the necessary increase of the electrostatic charge quantity is prevented after the electrostatic charge quantity of the developer attains the adequate value. |
