Lubrication system for run-flat tyre and rim - in which plastic or metal containers are located around and in rim well by clamping band and have means for lubricant release

Wheel rim has radially inward extending rim lips and on the radially outer side has a deep well. On both sides of the deep well are run-flat surfaces to permit driving on a punctured tyre. The tyre beads are located on the radially inner surface of the rim adjacent to the rim lips. - Running in a punctured condition is aided by lubricant from reservoirs equally spaced around the rim within the rim well and retained by a holding ring which bridges the rim well. Both containers and holding ring can be made of metal or plastic. Each container has a pressure switch for release of fluid which protrudes through an orifice in the holding ring.
