METHOD FOR OPTICAL RECEPTION LEVEL ADJUSTMENT

PURPOSE:To set an optical reception level to an optimum value automatically for each zone equipment by detecting a level of an optical signal received via an optical fiber transmission line and setting the optical reception level to a prescribed level in response to the detected output. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal reaching a photodetector 22 via an optical reception level adjustment device section 23 of an optical reception section 12 is converted into an electric signal and sent to a signal conversion section 13. The signal conversion section 13 sends information corresponding to the optical reception level obtained from the level of the inputted electric signal to an adjustment command section 15. The adjustment command section 15 sends an adjustment quantity or an adjustment value to an optical reception level adjustment device section 23 when the adjustment of the optical reception level is required. Thus, the adjustment command section 15 applies optimum control by feeding back the result of adjustment to the optical reception level adjustment device section 23 via the photodetector 22 and the signal conversion section 13.
