A cream or lotion consists of (a) an alkali metal salt of mono- or di- hydroxy phenols (opt. alkyl- or mono-alkoxy substd. where the alkyl is 1-4C), of acetophenone oxime, of 2,3-butane dione monoxime, or of a polyethylene glycol monoether, as active ingredient, dispersed in anhydrous state, in (b) a medium comprising polyethylene glycol(s), polyethylene glycol monoether or mixts., or mixts. of polyethylene glycol(s) and polyethylene glycol monoethers.
