PURPOSE:To improve juncture strength, by a method wherein a wall member, mounted to the head part of a piston body, is formed by a metallic porous material, cast in the piston body filled with an aluminum alloy, and a compound layer of the metal of a metallic porous material and aluminum. CONSTITUTION:The inner wall of a combustion chamber 4 in a head part 3 of a piston 1 and the upper surface of the piston around the combustion chamber 4 are formed by a wall member 7, and a piston body except the wall member 7 is formed by an aluminum alloy. The wall member 7 is cast in a piston body 2 in a condition that, in a metallic porous material 8, consisting of a nickel series alloy, a copper series alloy, or a cast iron series metal, the pores thereof are filled with the aluminum alloy of a piston body 2. At the boundary between the metallic porous material 8 and an aluminum alloy 9, a compound layer 10 of aluminum having a volume rate of 1-80% and a metal of the metallic porous material 8 is formed. |
