PURPOSE:To constitute a converter so that an output light becomes the complete wavelength conversion light of an input light by setting the wavelength of the input light and a polarized wave to a converting means so that the injecting synchronization is not applied to a semiconductor laser, and an induced emission occurs in the semicon ductor laser. CONSTITUTION:An optical bistable element OB1 has the constitution in which an optical non-linear medium NL whose refractive index is varied by liight is inserted into a Fabry-Perot resonator consisting of two opposed half mirrors HM1, HM2. A frequency modulating signal light lambda 1 (FM) is an FSK signal light varied by '1' and '0' of a frequency, and according to this transmission charscteristic, even if the intensity of the input light is fluctuated, the intensity of the output light is scarcely fluctuated. The light lambda1 is set to wavelength and a polarized wave by which the injecting synchronization is not applied to a single oscillation semiconductor laser L1, and an induced emission occurs in the single oscillation semiconductor laser L1, when it is inputted to the single oscillation semiconductor laser L1 through the optical bistable element OB1 after transmitting through a Mach-Zehnder optical filter M1. In such a manner, the FSK signal light having the same frequency deviation quantity as the input FSK signal light can be outputted. |
