The generator is based on the Meritens principle. It consists of a rotating part and of a fixed part. The rotating part is situated in the rim of a cycle wheel, which consists of: Magnetic field breakers (4) (magnetic stainless steel 33) regularly spaced on the periphery of the rim. These breakers (4) are fixed by a support (5) (anti-magnetic stainless steel 18.10) by tack welding. The whole is embedded in an insulating composite material (6) forming the rim proper. The breakers (4) come flush with the composite material (6). The fixed part, fixed to the frame of the bicycle by a support (stainless steel 18.10), consists of 2 adjustable cursors (3) (situated on either side of the rim) and fixed to the permanent magnet (2) which links them by 2 screws (7).
