<p>PURPOSE:To allow the common use of transparent electrodes for both of formation of dyestuff layers and driving of a liquid crystal by forming the dyestuff layers of conductive porous thin films of hydrophobic dyestuffs. CONSTITUTION:The color filter 10 is constituted of an insulating substrate 1, the transparent electrodes 2, the dyestuff layers 4, a coating layer 5 and an oriented layer 6. The dyestuff layers 4 are formed of the conductive porous thin film of the hydrophobic dyestuffs by a micelle electrolysis method on the transparent electrodes 2 of a prescribed shape on the glass substrate 1. The potential resistance drop of the electrodes 2 disposed in the lower part is lowered by such dyestuff layers 4. The use as the filter on the direct liquid crystal driving side is thus possible. Moreover, the need for providing the transparent electrode on the uppermost layer is eliminated and, therefore, the need for the intricate registration of the electrodes to each other is eliminated as well. The dyestuff layers 4 having the excellent resistance to heat, chemical and light are formed.</p> |
