PURPOSE:To display the state of jam continuously after breaking the power supply, by detecting a jam in plural positions of a transfer paper path to display the position of the jam mechanically. CONSTITUTION:When an electromagnet 30 is operated in accordance with a prescribed number of detection pulses from jam detectors provided in positions where a jam occurs easily in a transfer paper path, an operation lever 38 is slided a prescribed number of times through a movable iron piece 33 to advance and turn a ratchet 45a. A drum 46 where the position of a jam is displayed and a heart-shaped cam 54 are turned as one body through a ratchet 45b, which is turned together with the ratchet 45a as one body, and a pinion 57, and the drum 46 is stopped in a required position, and the cam 54 is latched by a reset arm 61, thus displaying the position of the jam mechanically. Consequently, as long as this display is not reset, it does not disappear but continues even when the power supply is broken, for example, when the copying machine is opened for the purpose of coping with the jam. |
