The invention comprises a portable treatment apparatus for treating a living body, with a signal generator 20, in which an electric treatment signal is generated and passed to the body via electrodes 17, 18, and comprises a test instrument for monitoring the treatment apparatus, with a display device for the electric treatment signal. To provide in a simple way a treatment apparatus which is lightweight, uses little energy and is easy to use, in the treatment apparatus there is provided a circuit 47, 68 for generating an analogue signal corresponding to the current and/or the voltage of the treatment signal, an analogue/digital converter 71, which is activated by an interrogation signal J from the test instrument and is intended for generating a digital signal from the analogue signal, a multi-position latching flip-flop 87, 97, for storing the digital signal, and a shift register 113, for receiving the content of the latching flip-flop 87, 97, the stored content being output from the shift register 113, for transfer to the test instrument for display purposes, by means of clock signals supplied by the test instrument and following the interrogation signal. <IMAGE> |
