<p>PURPOSE:To improve the safety of the storage of recording data and to increase the read and write speeds of data by dividing and recording data on plural recording media in parallel and generating an error correction code covering data on the respective recording media. CONSTITUTION:Input data is divided by a data distribution and restoration processing part 4 to constant length size, the error correction code is generated among the divided data at the same time, and they are stored in a write buffer 6 respectively. When the recording media 11-14 are mounted on driver devices 7-10 by a conveying mechanism 15, the respective divided data and error correction data on the write buffer 6 are read out and recorded dispersedly. Consequently, even if one of the recording media where the data are distributed becomes faulty, the data can be restored completely. Further, the data are read out and written by dividing and processing the data in parallel, so the processing speed of the data is increased.</p> |
