PURPOSE: To enhance the sensitivity of a measuring device and shorten the sensing time by at least partially covering an electrode and a reflector with a coating of a kind of hydrophobic metal complex. CONSTITUTION: In the partial pressure measuring device having a resonator, electrodes 12, 13 provided with reflectors 16, 17 have coating 18 of thickness of about 20-200nm composed of a kind of selectively acting hydrophobic metal complex. The coating 18 covers both the electrodes 12, 13 and at least the partial reflectors 16, 17. Under the influence of gas and steam, their electric characteristics such as conductivity or a capacity and a mechanical characteristic, for instance, elasticity is changed, thereby they are composed of material influencing the frequency, amplitude or the phase position of a surface wave. The change of the frequency is recorded with a detector, which is utilized as measure of gas concentration and partial pressure acting on the coating 18. Thus, sensitivity of the device can be enhanced and an induction time can be shortened. |
