Thermoplastic polymer compositions comprise a polyphenylene ether resin and an alkali metal chloride in an amount sufficient to provide the composition with antistatic properties. Preferably, the alkali metal chloride comprises lithium chloride and is included in an amount of from about 0.5 to about 15 parts by weight per hundred parts by weight resin.
