A purifier for nuclear reactor cooling water, which comprises, as active ingredient, a titanium oxide-based solid solution of the formula (1) (Ti1-xAlx)O2 (1) wherein 0<x<0.5, and/or an aluminum oxide-based solid solution of the formula (2) (Al1-yTiy)2O3 (2) wherein 0<y<0.5, and a method of purification of nuclear reactor cooling water, which comprises contacting nuclear reactor cooling water having a temperature of 100 to 300 DEG C with the above purifier.
