PURPOSE: To adjust the length of a yarn to be fed back into an open-end spinning element by arranging a stopper to determine the cutting position and a stopper to determine the yarn insertion position in a specified condition in a feeder. CONSTITUTION: A stopper 7 to determine the cutting position and a stopper 77 to determine the yarn insertion position are arranged in a feeder 5 so that the stopper 7 can be put out of action. The stopper 7 determines the length of the yarn projecting as a free yarn end from the feeder, while the stopper 77 fixes the feed end so as to correctly reach an opening part of a yarn draw-off pipe 12 by setting the clearance of the yarn draw-off pipe 12 from the opening part to be corresponding to the length of the free yarn end.
