PURPOSE:To readily adjust composition of a fuel electrode and its porosity by feeding nickel or nickel oxide powder and zirconia powder independently into a jet of plasma and flame spraying the powders to the surface of a cell supporting body or a solid electrolyte layer to form a cermet fuel electrode. CONSTITUTION:Nickel or nickel oxide and zirconia in the form of powder used as raw material of the cermet of a fuel electrode 4 are independently fed into a jet 3 of plasma injected from the nozzle 2 of a plasma flame spraying device 1 and are heated and melted by the plasma and radiated from inside the jet 3 and converted into a flame spraying flow 7 while being melted independently of each other, and then they collide with the surface of a cell supporting body or solid electrolyte layer and adhere thereto and accumulated, to form cermet electrode 4 from nickel and zirconia; composition of the cermet is readily adjusted by varying the feed rate of both powders to be fed into the jet 3. |
