Device for filling and sealing bags, the valve tube of which consists of weldable material or is internally lined with such material, with a filling connection with a clamping device for the valve tube, a moveable bag seat with a pivotable floor support plate or the like and a welding assembly which consists of an anvil and a sonotrode which are moveable in relation to one another. Reliable welding of the bag valve is to be achieved in which only the free valve tube section is actually situated between the anvil and the sonotrode of the welding device, and the bag valve is placed between the sonotrode and the anvil in an optimum position for welding. To this end, the invention makes provision for the bag seat (S) to be pivotable about a vertical axis (66) by means of a motor, pivoting cylinder or the like, as well as being able to travel in two directions at right angles to one another in a horizontal plane.
